The European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) is a European funding scheme aimed at supporting the fisheries, inland waters, aquaculture and maritime sectors. The fund supports sustainable development within the fishing and aquaculture industries and conservation of the marine environment, as well as growth and job creation in coastal communities.
The fund has been running since 2014 and will continue until 2020. The UKs allocation as part of the fund was £190 million, with about £80 million designated for use in England. At the time of writing, there is approximately 20% of the fund remaining.
The fund also supports investment onboard fishing vessels, with particular regard to safety equipment and initiatives. A wide range of equipment and facilities can be provided under article 32, with examples ranging from flares and lifejackets to structural amendments and additional facilities.
SO HOW CAN ZENITH MARITIME AND THE EMFF HELP YOU?
We aim to provide a fully encompassing service whereby we take away the hassle and time-consuming efforts of applying for funding, whilst delivering the maximum return for your vessel for minimal cost. The amount of funding available varies between projects but typically amounts to between 40% and 80% of the total cost, representing a substantial investment.
As part of our service, we will:
- Inspect your vessel and safety equipment, identifying all potential areas that could benefit from funding.
- Assist you in the completion of funding paperwork and talk you through the process.
- Source all necessary equipment in line with the requirements of the fund.
- Carry out Risk Assessments appropriate to the vessel and type of work, identifying hazards and control measures where applicable.
If you would like to benefit from the European Maritime and Fisheries fund before it’s too late, but don’t know where to start, or would like to know more about the type of equipment and facilities that you may be eligible for, get in touch today!
